Montauban Marathon
MarchThis is the meeting place for sportsmen and women, for those who pass themselves by to accomplish one of the most difficult sporting feats. The course can be adapted to suit your tastes, with the traditional marathon, a half-marathon, the 10kms or even the team trials.

JuneLadies Golf Open
JuneSince 2019, Golf de l’Estang de Montauban has been organising the « Ladies Open », a professional féminin golf tournament, unique in the Occitanie region, every year. Listed on the LET Access Séries calendar among other French dates as part of the European women’s golf circuit, this event brings together French and international players.

Montauban Triathlon
JulyEach year, the Montauban Triathlon offers distance trials for young people, a mixed relay as well as S and M distance trials.
Festival des Lucioles
JulySince 2022, in July, Montauban has been shining with a thousand and one lights, from the facade of its cathedral to the Place Lalaque, via the Ingres Bourdelle museum. Mappings, light trails, interactive shows and plenty of other surprises will keep the city alive throughout the festival. It’s a chance to rediscover the city’s buildings and monuments by night, thanks to a very special illumination of their architecture. The colours of the sky and the monuments come alive before your very eyes.


400 Blows Festival
SeptemberIt pays tribute to a major event in the town’s history: the unfailing resistance of the people of Montalban to the siege of Louis XIII in 1621, which gave rise to the legend of the 400 Blows (see p.4). Every year since then, for one weekend, the town has thrown a party, hosting one of the biggest funfairs in the South-West!
European Heritage Days

Manuel Azaña Days
NovemberAs part of the Manuel Azaña Days, a commemorative ceremony to mark the anniversary of the death of the last President of the Spanish Public Service, Manuel Azaña. These days will include cultural events and a colloquium devoted to an aspect of Spanish history linked to the figure of Manuel Azaña. The aim of the Présence de Manuel Azaña association is to raise awareness in France and other French-speaking countries of the significance of the work and actions of this great figure of democratic Spain.
