Safety in the city centre
The town of Montauban is taking steps to improve safety in its town centre in response to a number of offences and accidents involving cyclists, scooter users and other two-wheelers. A municipal by-law bans these vehicles from pedestrian areas in the heart of the city, encouraging users to put one foot on the ground.

You must be at least 12 years old (soon to be 14) to be authorised to drive an electric scooter or two-wheeler in town; Persons of legal age accompanying minors are responsible for them • It is forbidden to carry passengers on a motorised personal displacement vehicle (MPDV) • Insurance is compulsory for MPDVs and cyclo mobile léger : the user must take out a civil liability insurance policy covering the MPDE
