From June to September, Montauban comes into its own in all its summer splendour. The summer festivals are in full swing, whilst outdoor events take over the parks and gardens. The Place Nationale becomes the beating heart of the city, with its shaded terraces coming to life from the first rays of dawn until the balmy, starry evenings.
Port Canal and the banks of the Aveyron are transformed into a veritable oasis of coolness, welcoming swimmers, anglers and boaters. The banks of the Tarn offer their most beautiful views in the dazzling summer light, whilst the historic gardens reveal their most bountiful blooms.
This season is also one of abundance, when our colourful markets are brimming with juicy fruit and sun-kissed vegetables. It’s the perfect time to savour the authentic flavours of our region and share local specialities in a typically southern, friendly atmosphere.
