The Île de la Pissotte is a veritable bird sanctuary, situated on a spit of land in the middle of the River Tarn. It is home to more than fifteen species, most of which remain there all year round. Little bitterns, the island’s original inhabitants, have settled here and remain the most common species. At dusk, they constantly fly across the River Tarn to catch small fish, frogs and earthworms!
