Monsieur Jourdain dreams big: he wants to become a "gentleman." When a simple bourgeois struggles to gain access to high society and emulate the nobility, pretenses abound, intrigues are born, tutors parade by, and misunderstandings pile up… Turks arrive uninvited, marriages are arranged, vowels and consonants are debated in a waltz of powdered wigs and flamboyant costumes.
