From the seed sown in the soil to the dish served at the table, every food item reveals a story where chemistry, biodiversity, climate, and human know-how intersect. A highly sensory Science Café experience exploring the science that nourishes our daily lives. Current Event { Teens / Adults } Free with reservation LECTURE: *Inclassable* (Unclassifiable) – A solo stand-up show by and featuring Julie Dirwimmer SAT, OCTOBER 3 • 3:00 PM Welcome to *Inclassable*, a mock-lecture on the classification of food containers... and other things. "I decided to go where classification has never gone before, and I decided to start with my Tupperware drawer," exclaims Julie Dirwimmer. Armed with scientific theories and field research, the artist categorizes the containers in her kitchen—and ours. "When I opened your cupboards and your drawers... I saw things." While making us laugh, she prompts both young and old to reflect on their relationship with objects, clutter, classification, and, of course, tidying up. JULIE DIRWIMMER IS A QUEBEC-BASED ARTIST AND SCIENTIST. She is known on the Quebec scene as "Mme Cosinus," a spoken-word artist who draws inspiration from science for her projects.
