A historical drama by Emmanuel Marre, starring Swann Arlaud, Sandrine Blancke, and Mathieu Perotto. France, Belgium. 2h30.
September 1940, the Pétain regime is established. Henri Marre, 49, arrives in Vichy penniless, without contacts, far from his wife and children. He sees in the new administration the opportunity to finally find the place he deserves. In his suitcase, he carries his self-published political treatise, Our Salvation, in which he defends his patriotic convictions and his engineering methods. His credo: "to gain efficiency" to lift France out of defeat. But perhaps Henri is primarily seeking to escape his own defeat… Screenplay Award - Cannes Film Festival 2026
