Description
THE STUFF OF HEROES? UNIFORMS, ATTRIBUTES, AND EQUIPMENT OF THE QUERCY REFUGEES (LOT AND LOT-ET-GARONNE)
1943-1944 by Emmanuel Carrère, conservation officer
Meet at the Perbosc space
The collective imagination, reinforced after the war by the "myth of the Resistance" and cinema, has propagated the image of well-armed and well-equipped resistance fighters. However, this overlooks the fact that in their early days they were dressed in civilian clothes, very lightly armed, and faced significant logistical challenges.
Come and discover their history, their equipment and supplies, and the connection between the resistance groups of the Lot and Tarn-et-Garonne regions. The presentation will be accompanied by displays of objects from private collections and the museum.
