Yitzhak Rabin, Israeli Prime Minister, architect of the Oslo Accords, and Nobel Peace Prize laureate, is assassinated in Tel Aviv's Kings of Israel Square after a long speech against violence and for peace. His assassin: a far-right, religious Jewish student. Twenty years later, filmmaker Amos Gitai revisits this traumatic event with a fresh perspective. Placing the assassination within its political and societal context, The Last Day of Yitzhak Rabin blends fictional reenactments and archival footage to deliver a true political thriller. This special screening, with director Amos Gitai in attendance, is part of the Israeli Film Spring Festival.
