Description

From Monday, September 14 to Friday, September 18, the "Boutique Fiction" is making a stop in Montauban. Combining exhibitions and workshops within the "propulsion truck" and the event village, the event navigates the space between science and fiction.
Goal: To make the issues surrounding ecological transitions accessible and engaging. At the initiative of Grand Montauban, the Roseraie Park is hosting the "Boutique Fiction" for five days—a unique experience blending science communication, education, and future-oriented thinking. The aim is to make the concepts and challenges of ecological transitions accessible and fun for everyone, at a time when "achieving carbon neutrality by 2050, in accordance with the Paris Agreement, requires a profound transformation of our production, consumption, and lifestyle patterns." How will we eat in 2050? How will we receive medical care? What will our leisure activities look like? These are just some of the questions being explored from September 14 to 18 inside the "Camion Propulseur" (Propulsion Truck)—a mobile shop housed in a converted 60m² semi-trailer. In addition to this event, the "village" will host representatives from the Community Gardens, the Mémo (media library), the Municipal Archives, the Youth and Student Life Department, Sirtomad, the Montauban Fab Lab, Suez Énergie, Montauban Services, and more. The goal is to raise awareness about the ecological transition and make its themes more accessible by using fiction as an entry point. Topics covered include waste sorting, gardening, water conservation, digital technology, and the future. An immersive approach This event is designed for everyone, from primary school pupils to seniors, including middle and high school students, university students, children from recreation centers, and more. Each visitor is invited to enjoy a unique experience, interact with the space, and reflect on their own impact on the future. The exhibition offers an original, participatory way to understand ecological transitions and the societal changes that lie ahead.
