Fête des 400 coups

For several years now, the 400 Coups festival has returned to the essence of this celebration, deeply rooted in Montauban's history, with a vision that blends history and heritage in the heart of the city. This year, the festivities will once again begin with the funfair on Cours Foucault and will continue throughout the weekend with parades, short plays, shows, and period crafts. A must-see event this fall in Montauban and a unique experience to be had in the city of Ingres. Find the detailed program below: - Friday, September 11: At Cours Foucault 6:30 PM - Opening of the funfair and Festiv'B'Arts, featuring musical entertainment by the percussion group Shaking' Groov 8:30 PM - DJ Équinoxe at the Festiv'B'Arts area - Saturday, September 12: At Cours Foucault 9:30 PM - Parade featuring the "400 Coups" floats (organized by the Montauban Festivités association), starting from Place Lalaque in front of Café Marignan. Concert by the Ribul Orchestra at Festiv'B'Arts. In the city center 10:00 AM - Procession starts at the Ancien Collège (Esplanade des Fontaines), moves through the Allée de l'Empereur market, and arrives at Place Roosevelt. The historical show "1621: The Birth of a Legend" Presented by the associations Legende Prod, Passdarm, and Festibérique 1621: France is in the grip of Huguenot revolts. On August 17, Montauban is besieged by the armies of Louis XIII. The show recounts this chapter of the city's history and depicts how the people of Montauban resisted until the King was forced to yield. Set against this backdrop, we follow the story of Guillemette de Gasc, a young woman from Montauban and the heroine of the siege.
