Exhibition at La Mémo: PRISES DE TÊTE

Ranging from headaches to disheveled visages, my *Prise de Tête* (Head Trip) series playfully uses graphic, exaggerated forms to imagine characters defined in symbolic and abstract ways. But how can one convey emotions, a strong identity, or a psychological state through lines, shapes, and patterns? Are my characters defined by the appearance they present to the viewer? Are they ordinary or strange? Do they resemble us? In exploring these questions, I sought to create subjects with distinctive, "symptomatic" outlines that prompt us to reflect on our own personalities as well as how we perceive others.
