Description
Julie Legal creates a personal body of work that blends drawing and weaving—acts that serve as attempts to reconnect what should not be separated and to mend what is suffering.
Inside a large pink cube—an echo of the book *Des-Seins* and Breast Cancer Awareness Month (Octobre Rose)—
visitors are welcomed into a womb-like space where Julie Legal explores the infinite possibilities of the female body.
Through these unveiled bodies, she addresses—sometimes gently, sometimes more directly—themes of motherhood, the gaze, desire, and the body in love or in pain; the young body and the mature body; the body that nurtures or inspires; and the nature of nudity itself.
Through both the book and the exhibition, Julie Legal invites us to view our own bodies—and the bodies of others—
without judgment, guided by the radiant awareness that the vessel of our incarnation is worthy of respect, love, attention, and care at every stage of life, regardless of the norms that seek to confine us.
