Description
Contemporary Expressions: Saba Nikam / Les EpouxP
This exhibition showcases the residency of Iranian artist Saba Niknam at Crambes—a company specializing in hat-making craftsmanship—and presents a body of work created on this theme by Les EpouxP, an artist duo from the Tarn-et-Garonne region.
The event is part of the "Gestes" (Gestures) regional program led by Les Abattoirs, Musée – Frac Occitanie Toulouse. This program explores the work of artist-artisans to reveal, in a sensitive way, the intersections between artisanal practices and contemporary creation. Here, the "gesture" is viewed as an active testament to vernacular skills: weaving, braiding, blowing, carding, spinning, assembling, cutting, knitting, slip-coating, dusting with flour, molding, and more.
In Tarn-et-Garonne, the program is coordinated by the Midi-Quercy Territorial and Rural Balance Hub (Pôle d'équilibre Territorial et Rural), in partnership with the Quercy Caussadais Community of Municipalities and the Tarn-et-Garonne Departmental Council.
