Dance: Magnificent

“One (in my early) spring, listening to Bach, the windows opened to the outside, inviting the still-fresh air and birdsong in; more than the feeling of a beautiful day, the feeling of a beautiful life at its beginning…” This is the source of inspiration for Magnifiques. Michel Kelemenis pays homage to dancers, launching nine soloists into the lived and projected pleasure of a choral form. He delivers a hymn to youth, to that force that seizes the present with its whole being to filter the world toward another tomorrow, to the infinite energy of the feeling of immortality. The electronic flourishes of Angelos Liaros Copola respond to the Magnificat of Johann Sebastian Bach, allowing a free gesture to rejoice, recognizing the dancers as exceptional instruments.
