Description
Traditionally, acrobatic circus assigns men the roles of porters – robust, grounded – and women those of acrobats – light, in motion.
Agathe and Adrien subvert these archetypes with disarming fluidity: despite a difference in height and build, they alternate roles, supporting, rising, and falling in turn, blurring the lines between masculine and feminine, strength and vulnerability.
Provocative, dysfunctional, and tender, this piece invites the audience to question their own preconceptions.
Skillfully combining hand-to-hand acrobatics, Icarus-like movements, and dance, the stage becomes an arena where a constantly evolving relationship unfolds, oscillating between tender complicity, power struggles, and a quest for balance. Little by little, the archetypes crumble, giving way to a quest for friendship and equality, expressed with power and fluidity.
A sensitive and committed performance in which the two artists push the physical limits of their bodies while deconstructing gender norms.
