Pink October 2026 in Montauban:

charity run, themed tours of the Ingres Bourdelle Museum and an awareness programme on breast cancer screening.

As it does every October, the Greater Montauban area is rallying behind Pink October, the national information and awareness campaign on breast cancer screening.

Pink October

What is it?

Pink October is a national awareness campaign that runs throughout October. Its main aim is to encourage breast cancer screening in order to detect any abnormalities as early as possible, when they are still more easily treatable.

Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women in France and remains the leading cause of cancer-related deaths among women. For most women (particularly those aged between 50 and 74 with no family historyof the disease), regular screening is offered every two years as part ofthe national organised screening programme. This screening comprises a mammogram and, in some cases, an ultrasound scan, sometimes accompanied by a clinical examination.

Under this scheme, the cost of a mammogram is covered 100 per cent by the health insurance scheme, with no upfront payment required, provided you present the invitation letter you have received.

4 and 14 October:

Pink October at the Ingres Bourdelle Museum

The Ingres Bourdelle Museum is offering two special themed tours, entitled “Pink October: a tour of the MIB, for all breasts!”, on Sunday 4 and Wednesday 14 October 2026 at 2.30 pm.

This is an original way of combining an exploration of the museum’s collections with raising awareness of breast cancer screening, as part of the Greater Montauban area’s involvement in Pink October.

The programme continues to take shape

Other highlights from the Grand Montauban will enrich the programme for Pink October 2026: a charity walk, information stands, events organised by local organisations… As every year, numerous local organisations (the League Against Cancer, ARTEMIS, the Resource Centre, etc.) will be running awareness-raising and fundraising activities throughout the month to support the fight against breast cancer.

This page will be updated as further announcements are made. Please do check back for the full programme as October approaches.
