Places: those spaces that are part of us
From 21 November to 30 April 2027No fewer than 30 squares, esplanades, forecourts and other open spaces are scattered throughout Montauban town centre. As the heart of community life, these places have been constantly evolving for nearly 900 years, reflecting the needs and challenges of the times. Through a sensitive and immersive approach, the CIAP and the artist Victoria Niki invite you to discover how the people of Montauban have lived in the city’s squares, how they have created, transformed, embellished and transformed them once again.

Participatory art project
Visual artist Victoria Niki invites the public to join her at two events to take part in the creation of a collective artwork, the centrepiece of the exhibition “Places: the places that inhabit us”. Come and join her in making bricks from recycled paper (books, newspapers, etc.) and a binding agent. Each element will form part of a wall inspired by the city’s architecture, revealing an ever-changing image at the crossroads of memory, gesture and place.
Make the most of the National Architecture Days to meet the artist and contribute your own brick to the structure!
