When Port Canal becomes a paradise for beach sports

At the height of the Montalbanais summer, Port Canal becomes the scene of a spectacular transformation.

This magnificent green setting is adorned with tonnes of fine sand to host one of the season’s most eagerly awaited events: the Montauban Beach Event.

For several weeks, this exceptional venue buzzes with the excitement of beach sports, creating a unique seaside atmosphere right in the heart of Tarn-et-Garonne.

A unique experience combining sport and socialising

Imagine yourself with your feet in the warm sand, basking in the southern French sunshine, whilst bursts of laughter and cheers ring out in the summer air. The Montauban Beach Event transforms Port Canal into a veritable pop-up seaside resort, where top-level competition and family entertainment come together in a preserved natural setting.

Every year, the event brings together hundreds of participants: seasoned athletes, keen amateurs and the simply curious – everyone finds their place in this celebration of beach sports, which has now become an integral part ofMontauban’s summer identity.

Port Canal is transformed into a veritable beach sports village.

The refreshment stands come to life and a programme of live music accompanies the competitions, creating a festive and relaxed atmosphere.

Occitan Mixed Beach Rugby

13 June, from 10.00 am to 10.00 pm

Rugby, pétanque, entertainment, food and drink, a refreshment bar and a beach club atmosphere await you all day long!

Inclusive Football Day

The Beach Volleyball Tournament

28 June from 10.00 am to 6.00 pm and 1 July from 7.00 pm to 10.00 pm

Beach volleyball,the quintessential beachsport, finds an exceptional setting here.

Teams go head-to-head in fiercely contested matches where technique, tactics and physical fitness come together, spurred on by an enthusiastic crowd. Every point becomes a spectacle in its own right.

International Beach Tennis Tournament

16–19 July, 9.00 am to 10.00 pm

Three days of pure excitement as the world’s top players gather on the courts at Port Canal.

Rallies fly, smashes crack, and the crowd is gripped by the excitement of this spectacular sport, which blends tennis and volleyball into an explosive cocktail of adrenaline.
