Farmers’ market (Saturday morning): this is THE not-to-be-missed event of the Montalban weekend! Over 190 local producers set up shop in the heart of town, creating a veritable feast for the senses. Stroll between the colorful stalls where seasonal fruits and vegetables, farmhouse cheeses, artisanal honeys, traditional charcuterie and natural sourdough breads await you. Talk to our passionate producers, who will be happy to share their trade secrets and tasting tips.

For families

Take advantage of the market to put together a picnic basket with the kids. It’s the ideal time to introduce them to local produce, inviting them to talk to producers about the origins of the food. Alternatively, opt for a gourmet breakfast at the Salon de Thé Pâtisserie Alexandres, where children will be charmed by the artisanal viennoiseries.

For couples

Turn your visit to the market into a culinary treasure hunt, selecting products to compose a tasting platter that you can enjoy later. After this gourmet stroll, opt for a moment of relaxation on the Place Nationale, with its breathtaking view of historic facades.

Every Saturday, take the shuttle bus from the Eurythmie parking lot to the Esplanade des Fontaines to discover one of the region’s most beautiful markets (ticket price: €0.60 return). Alternatively, here are our parking tips.

Then join the majestic Place Nationale for a coffee break. This architectural masterpiece, with its double arcades and pink bricks, is the perfect setting for an espresso or hot chocolate. Café Les Arcades, L’Agora or Le Temple Bar welcome you with their terraces, ideally placed for observing Montalban’s awakening life.

Every Saturday at 11.44am, La Crieuse announces the city’s cultural program! 11.44 a.m. to be precise, in reference to the date of Montauban’s foundation in 1144. With passion, she not only introduces you to our city’s cultural heritage, but also to her mysterious trunk! Come closer, it contains objects that may seem unusual or intriguing at first glance, but they all hark back to the history of Montauban.

It’s impossible to leave the city of Ingres without visiting the Musée Ingres Bourdelle, where light shines on every floor. People come here first and foremost for Mum Jackie‘s cuisine : simple and generous, it instantly evokes the comfort of dishes“just like home“! The welcome is provided by son Jeff, a character with a strong personality but a big heart, who perfectly completes the authentic experience that makes this establishment so charming.

Laissez-vous conter les berges du Tarn” walking tour . Walking trails have been laid out close to the town center, in a relaxing natural environment. This route invites you to discover an exceptional architectural heritage, in an environment rich in natural spaces of rare quality in the heart of the city.

In our parks and gardens, our favorite is the Jardin des Plantes. This arboretum covers 3 hectares on either side of the Tescou river. Embark on a botanical voyage and let yourself be enchanted by the scents and colors of hackberry, Chinese ginkbo biloba and American giant sequoia. You may even come across white mulberry trees, famous in Montauban’s former silkworm industry.

Did you know that there’s a marina right in the heart of Montauban? Located just a stone’s throw from the city center, Port Canal is where land and water meet. A small haven of peace and greenery offering a complete change of scenery. The gentle ripple of multicolored boats, the chirping of birds and the accents of onlookers set the mood.

Come and discover Ingréo : France’s third-largest aquatic center, with a sports pool and an Olympic pool. Enjoy swimming in all weathers in the indoor sports pool. This 25-meter pool with its 8 lanes divided into levels will enable you to train in complete tranquillity. A 50-meter Olympic-size pool with 8 lanes is also available outside for swimming under Montauban’s beautiful skies. Crawl, breaststroke or butterfly, you’ll have all the space you need to perfect your swimming techniques.
