Opened in 2008, the heritage center unfolds around the main courtyard of the former Jesuit college. It brings together in one place the administration of the heritage service, an educational space for young people, a documentary resource center and two large exhibition halls.
The permanent exhibition "Montauban, portrait of a city" recounts the destiny of the city from its foundation to the present day, around a relief map of the territory. Depots of objects from the collections of the Ingres Bourdelle museum and the Montauban hospital center in particular enrich this visit.
A children's area also offers the youngest treasure hunts, memory and dominoes for a playful discovery of Montauban.
This set is completed by thematic temporary exhibitions.

The heritage center coordinates all the initiatives of Montauban within the framework of the City of Art and History label and offers all year round guided tours, exhibitions, conferences and activities for Montalbanais, tourists and schoolchildren.
All guided tours are led by tour guides from the heritage centre. Approved by the Ministry of Culture and Communication, they give you all the keys to understanding the history of the city, its architecture, its heritage.

Admission to the exhibition spaces is free.

Montauban, my elsewhere. Literary walk to listen to. The writer Mouloud Akkouche has written a fictional text testifying to his wanderings and his view of our city.
