The island of La Pissotte is a real bird nest, set on an arm of land in the middle of the Tarn. It hosts more than fifteen species, staying for the most part, all year round. The crowned night herons, the first inhabitants of the island, have settled down and remain the most present species. At dusk, they cross the Tarn without stopping to catch small fish, frogs and earthworms!
