Located today in the former palace of the Cour des aides, the project of the Muséum Victor Brun hatched in 1852, under the will of the members of the Société des Sciences (Agriculture et Belles Lettres du Tarn-et-Garonne), wishing to make their private collections available to the people of Montalban.
Appointed curator in 1857, Victor Brun was naturalist, but also a member of the Society and the holder of most of the collection that makes up the Museum.
