LET MONTAUBAN TELL YOUR STORY

27 December, 3 January, 21 February and 28 February at 2.30pm

Set off on a 1? hour exploration of the historic centre. Along the streets and squares, your guide will tell you about the major stages in the founding of Montauban in the XIIᵉ century, the rise of its consular power, the evolution of its districts and the secrets of its emblematic monuments. From the Place Nationale to the Pont Vieux via the town houses, discover a town vibrant with history and life, even in the middle of winter. €6.50 / €4.50

The town houses of Montauban

20 December, 10 January and 7 February at 2.30pm

This tour is a plunge into the elegance and art of living of the XVIIᵉ, XVIIIᵉ and XIXᵉ centuries. Behind their brick facades, Montalban’s private mansions house monumental staircases, intimate courtyards and refined decor. By opening these usually closed doors, your guide will introduce you to the architectural wealth and the lives of the great families who have shaped the city’s history.

The Mandoune valley and the textile factory

24 January at 2.30pm

Armed with postcards, photographs, engravings and old paintings, discover the Mandoune valley, a natural protection for the medieval town. This immersion in the landscapes of yesteryear continues with an exceptional opening of the former workshops of a famous textile manufacturer. A visit that combines nature, industrial heritage and the memory of the workers.

From medieval stalls to the elegant shops of the Belle Époque, this tour tells the story of the evolution of commerce in Montauban and the essential role played by women in the city’s economic life. It’s a lively tour, punctuated by stories of shops, markets and urban transformations through the seasons.

Winter visits to the Musée Ingres Bourdelle

A lamp: between light and shadow

When night falls and the sounds of the city fade, the Musée Ingres Bourdelle reveals a mysterious and poetic atmosphere. By the light of a simple torch, follow a guide on an unusual sensory journey. Shadow play, revealed details, a hushed atmosphere… the museum has never been so alive.
