Short films, big emotions. The Short Film Festival from March 25 to 31.
For one week, film lovers and newcomers alike, young audiences, families, and enthusiasts explore the magic of short films across France and internationally.
During this festive week, we will offer you the chance to discover 10 short films, shown before each of our feature films of the week:
- A SINGLE LIFE by Job, Joris & Marieke. While listening to a mysterious vinyl record, Pia suddenly finds herself able to travel through her life.
- FLIPPED – ADULT LIFE by Théo Grosjean. Administrative phobia spares no one—not even Théo, terrified at the thought of filling out forms.
- OFF-SCREEN by Jérôme Tripier-Mondancin. According to Shakespeare, we are all actors in a play. So, could real life be directed by a film crew?
- JUSTICE by Marc Faye. In 1983, the head of the Gestapo, Klaus Barbie, is arrested. Robert Badinter reflects on the ambivalence he feels realizing that by abolishing the death penalty, he has saved the life of the man responsible for deporting his father to Sobibor.
- THE CABBAGE FAIRY by Alice Guy. The first film directed by a woman features a fairy in a garden tending to enormous cabbages. By magic, children emerge from them.
- DALIA’S WORLD by Javier Navarro Avilés. Little Dalia explores her father’s tropical greenhouse. After taking some footage, she realizes she has lost sight of her father. Gradually, Dalia reaches an open space, revealing a real tropical forest before her.
- ORANGE OF DESPAIR by John Banana. What happens when a small depressed orange decides to leave its crate and ends up with its neighbors, a group of cheerful, dancing pineapples?
- ROBO by Léo Becker. The strange encounter between a residential tower and a giant robot in the Brussels canal.
- RUBIKA by Claire Baudean, Ludovic Habas, Mickaël Krebs, Julien Legay, Chao Ma, Florent Rousseau, Caroline Roux, Margaux Vaxelaire. Welcome to Rubika, a planet with whimsical gravity.
- ARE YOU COMING BACK? by Léo Grandperret. Max and Chloé are shy. Can a short theater workshop change everything?
In addition to individual short films, we offer 2 complete programs:
- LAUGHING IN THE 60s. For ages 8+. 1h29. How about laughing in good company? A journey through time with the greatest of the 1960s: Jacques Tati, Pierre Etaix, Michael Lonsdale, Bernadette Lafont, and even Buster Keaton in color.
Saturday, March 28 at 6:00 PM. Presented by Félicien Hachebé with Boires et déboires d’un cinéphile and SuperSeven.
- HAPPY HEADS. Ages 7-10. 0h51. Like everyone else, our characters have doubts. But no worries—they’re in good company! Maman pleut des cordes by Hugo de Faucompret, La petite casserole d’Anatole by Éric Montchaud, Des tresses by Leïla Macaire.
Sunday, March 29 at 1:45 PM. The screening will be followed by a workshop and a snack provided by La mie câline. Reservation required: 05.63.03.50.44 / cgrparis.montauban@cgrcinemas.fr
