Singer, lyricist and melodist, Sebka tells stories
with his guitar about the complexity of the world and the heart,
a few moments of grace, the taste for travel
and fleeting pleasures, the quest for meaning,
what brings us together as well as what isolates us.
He revisits French-language songs with gusto, exploring themes of lost love, fleeting romances, frivolous or budding relationships, chaotic parenthood, solitude, the search for meaning, and eco-surrealist reflections.
Humor and despair constantly intertwine within a vast (Sur le Bosphore, Les bécanes de Cuba) and varied (La chanteuse, L’air de l’éboueur) world, described with delicacy, yet always uncompromising, without resorting to clichés.
One might think of Brassens when he accompanies himself on guitar on stage, but one also thinks of Alexis HK, Gainsbourg, or Brel. Finally, Sebka co-writes and co-composes with other artists: ABRY (EP La femme au bouclier in 2022 and album Abyr released last November 7th), Philippe Lars (Je ne veux que des débuts), and Julie Rouault (Capitaine, also co-created with Oaio), among others.
