Women in the History of Painting - Lecture presented by UTAM, University of All Ages of Montauban
Since the origins of Western painting, women have consistently produced masterpieces. Henri de Montety, a doctor of history, will examine in particular the paintings of Sophonisba Anguissola, Artemisia Gentileschi, Elisabeth Vigée-Lebrun, Berthe Morisot, Suzanne Valadon, and Sonia Delaunay. Each, in the style of her time and with her own unique sensibility, depicted what only the masters are capable of: the realm of the invisible and the timeless.
