Corsican Duo Fiuminale – Two voices, one island.
With over forty years on stage and more than 2,000 concerts performed in France and abroad, Maxime Merlandi and Jean-Philippe Guissani embody the essence of Corsican song. Their duo, Fiuminale, is a continuation of their rich career, notably marked by their time with the Barbara Furtuna Quartet, a major ensemble that helped bring Corsican polyphony to international acclaim.
Throughout their projects, the two artists have collaborated with L’Arpeggiata, Placido Domingo, Roberto Alagna, Constantinople, Bélem, and Zadeja, and have performed in more than thirty countries, on prestigious stages such as Carnegie Hall in New York, the Konzerthaus in Berlin, and the Salle Pleyel in Paris.
On stage, Fiuminale offers a powerful and intimate style of singing where two voices rise, respond to each other, and unite. Each recital becomes a moment of sharing, fostered by a sensitive dialogue with the audience. The harmonies, the resonance of the voices, and the understated musical gestures offer a profound experience: an inner journey as much as a collective, authentic, and vibrant connection.
