A year ago, the demolition of Building P, which has stood in the Chambord housing estate since 1965, caught everyone’s attention. This key stage in the urban renewal of the eastern entrance to the estate provided an opportunity to highlight the memory of the estate and its residents. Photographer Arnaud Chochon came to meet the residents during the rehousing and demolition phases, questioning the past while bearing witness to the present. Presented in the form of an exhibition, his work combines portraits of residents, architectural photographs, sound and video reports and public and private archives. As a spectator of a changing city, the artist captures the memories of the Cité Chambord and highlights its identity with sensitivity.
