Fernand de Bois d'Enghien goes to his mistress, Lucette Gautier, to announce that he's leaving her. Interested in her fortune, he wants to marry Viviane, Baroness Duverger's daughter.
But things get complicated for Fernand with the arrival of Bouzin, the songwriter he wants to propose to Lucette, General Irrigua, who's madly in love with Lucette, and the future mother-in-law.
All these characters find themselves in a whirlwind of misunderstandings, misunderstandings, and hilarious twists, under the gaze of Firmin, the haughty and caustic butler.
