In a jubilant hand-to-hand encounter, Jina Djemba and Amaury de Crayencour take us on a poignant and hilarious journey to the land of couples.
From the first encounter to the final breakup, sixteen romantic encounters nervously oscillate between laughter and drama. Lovers, parents, strangers, divorced people, widowers, husbands and wives... all struggle with their impulses, their upbringings, their ideals. From a spark a fire spreads, from a misunderstanding a war breaks out, despite each person's superhuman efforts to love the other... and themselves.
THE AUTHOR'S WORDS
I wrote "Ring" at 27. When the text was published, I hadn't yet crossed the thunderous, moving bridge that is life as a couple with ONE and then TWO children. My vision of the relationship naturally expanded. Having a very understanding publisher, I asked to republish the text with the addition and deletion of certain scenes. I understood that this piece was destined to remain alive, to have, like us, its marks of life, to evolve. This is why I added the word "Variations" to the initial "Ring."
