A Pagnolesque tale, a universal homage to life, to the earth, to women! - Suitable for all ages, ages 12 and up. Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes.
Angèle lives with her parents on a Provençal farm. She is seduced by a smooth-talking Marseille man, who soon throws her out on the street. A year later, she returns home with her baby, a "bastard." Her father takes them in, but to save the family's honor, he sequesters them in the cellar... A lovely blend of humor and emotion, staged in a pure Pagnolesque spirit, enriched by Giono's poetry.
ABOUT THE SHOW
Based on Marcel Pagnol's 1934 film, the show transposes cinema onto a stage.
The audience witnesses the actors' script and, simultaneously, the filming of the film. When they are not acting out scenes, they become the technical crew. An ingenious set design reveals the simultaneously real and invisible world of the on-screen and off-screen.
