Their daughter, Yalda, born in Paris, tells us about their life in exile, their fight for freedom, their love of their country, and the hope of returning. She takes us between her two worlds: her family, heroes who never complain, and French society, in which she desperately seeks her place. It's the story of a heritage we both love and hate; it's the story of men and women trying to carve out a new path for themselves.
