A cinematic journey into the mind of Eileen Gray.
The Irish designer built a refuge on the French Riviera in 1929.
Her first house was a discreet and avant-garde masterpiece. She named it "E.1027," an enigmatic marriage of her initials and those of Jean Badovici, with whom she had built it. Le Corbusier, upon discovering the house, was intrigued and obsessed. He covered the walls with murals and published photos of them. Gray called these paintings vandalism and demanded their return. He ignored her wishes and instead built his famous Cabanon directly behind E.1027, which still dominates the site's narrative today. A story about the power of female expression and men's desire to control it.
