AUTOBIOGRAPHY OF MY FAMILY with Annette Wieviorka and Marie-Hélène Lafon.
"I hardly ever separate stories and History," Marie-Hélène Lafon said on the program Le cours de l'Histoire on France Culture. For this evening, she invites historian Annette Wieviorka, a world-renowned specialist in the history of the Holocaust and author of numerous books and articles. In her book Tombeaux, Annette Wieviorka takes on the challenge of writing her own story: she delves into archives, genealogies, memories, and reflects on the traces left by all the missing people who make up her family. This story resonates with another investigation into her aunt Berthe, whose fate was irreparably marked by an illegal abortion, and which gave rise to a captivating radio documentary produced with Mathilde Raczymow for France Culture: Berthe et Léna. During this meeting, Annette Wieviorka, in dialogue with Marie-Hélène Lafon, will discuss these two family and historical investigations, but also the way in which bodies are crossed, mistreated, marked or even completely erased by History.
