The members of the Reading Circle have chosen to discuss the novel *La route de Beit Zera* (Stock, 2015) by Hubert Mingarelli. Open to members and all
Stepan lives with his dog somewhere in Israel in a secluded house near the woods. He writes every day to his son Yankel, forced into hiding on the other side of the world. In his writings, he recounts his life of solitude and expresses his hope of one day being reunited with him. As he confronts his grief, he recalls the time he used to control Palestinians at border crossings, experiencing feelings of hatred, shame, and compassion.
