In connection with the 11th edition of the Passions Baroques Festival - Free entry
In the 17th and 18th centuries, the courts of Europe loved to organize sumptuous "equestrian ballets" bringing together musicians, opera singers, horses, riders, and more. Everyone attended this entertainment, from the poorest to the richest, in the presence of the King.
Brussels, European Capital of Culture in 2000, recreates this Baroque celebration with the Grand Carrousel. Thierry Bosquet, a painter, costume designer, and scenographer working for the world's most prestigious theaters and opera houses, designed the costumes and sets.
This exhibition reveals some of these sumptuous costumes to the public.
