And suddenly, bronze and marble began to dance... - Ballet Julien Lestel - All audiences Duration: 1h10
The body, as a vehicle for expressing the soul's movements, constitutes an inexhaustible source of inspiration throughout Auguste Rodin's career. Inspired by the masterful sculptor, choreographer Julien Lestel focuses on the movement that emanates from all his works and explores in this choreographic creation the questions of impulse, flight, gravity, and balance. The sculptor's entire expressive palette is reshaped, no longer in materials, but in the very flesh of the dancers.
Rodin said that an art that has life does not reproduce the past but continues it. This ballet is the most beautiful illustration of this.
