With the Normandy landings, the era of Collaboration was drawing to a close. In Tarn-et-Garonne, as throughout France, the need for justice was immense. From extrajudicial purges as acts of reprisal against collaborators to the legal system established by the provisional government to curb settling of scores, Tarn-et-Garonne was no exception. Collaborators and suspects awaiting trial were interned at the Septfonds camp. Then, the justice system, through its various branches, began its work.
