Gilles Ragot, a specialist in 20th-century architecture, will present the conditions that led to the launch of this proactive policy, the doctrines that accompanied it, and the results observed on a national scale.

Offered as part of the exhibition "Chambord, Memory of a City in Transition"

ARCHITECTURAL ADORNMENTS: THE DECORATION OF MONTALBAN'S FACADES, by Laurette Simon, lecturer at the CIAP (Center for Interpretation of Architecture and Heritage)
Meet in the conference room, Old College
The façade, the public image of the residence, tells us much about the intentions of its owners. Starting with a very restrained classicism in the 17th century, its decoration gradually became richer during the 18th and 19th centuries, showcasing a whole range of motifs from very diverse origins.
We will decipher their details, their forms, and their evolution according to the fashions and tastes of Montauban's bourgeoisie.
Practical Information
Duration: 1 hour. Free
