THE HARMONIC POEM - DANCE! THE FENIX OF PARIS - CONCERT - DURATION 1H10 - €24 • €10 • €5
There was never so much dancing in France as in the 17th century. Would it have been the same without our Iberian neighbors? Folias and sarabands are the stuff of dreams, in the palaces and alleys of Paris alike. The bewitching melodies of Luis Briceño (c. 1581 – c. 1646) and Francisco Berxes (1668 – 1702) inspire this Iberian fever. Ardent passions and bitter laments intermingle for a festive and wild journey.
Vincent Dumestre combines guitar and vocals with a rich array of percussion instruments to enrich his secret discoveries with new sounds, always with the freshness of improvisation. He is one of the most inventive artisans of the Baroque revival and never ceases to surprise audiences.
Isabelle Druet moves with equal delight from opera to recital with disconcerting ease. She was a Revelation of the 2010 Victoires de la Musique Classique.
