What if Marcel Pagnol met the child he once was? Marcel and Monsieur Pagnol, a tender journey to the heart of memory and Provence.
Hosted by Sylvain Chomet with the voices of Laurent Lafitte, Géraldine Pailhas, and Thierry Garcia. France, Belgium, and Luxembourg. Ages 8 and up.
At the height of his fame, Marcel Pagnol receives a commission from the editor-in-chief of a major women's magazine to write a literary serial, in which he can recount his childhood, his Provence, and his first loves. As he writes the first pages, the child he once was, little Marcel, suddenly appears to him. His memories resurface through the words: the arrival of talking pictures, the first major film studio, his attachment to actors, the experience of writing. The greatest storyteller of all time thus becomes the hero of his own story.
A session hosted by Nathalie Vernerey, visual arts teacher.
