Historic site and monument at Montauban
In the heart of town, towards which all the streets of the old center converge, the Place Nationale has been the high place of public life since the origins of Montauban (1144).
Ruined by two fires in 1614 and 1649, it was completely rebuilt thanks to the royal generosity and the will of the consuls.
Completed at the beginning of the 18th century, it forms a harmonious and homogeneous ensemble recently restored.
The facades conceal deep buildings opening onto pretty courtyards adorned with galleries and towers of stairs.
