  • In the land of Bourdelle , one of the masters of the 20th century,
art flourishes and dresses the void.

At the bend of a street, in the middle of a square, in front of a grove; wherever space allows,
    sculptures flourish.

Here is a kaleidoscope of works scattered throughout the city; They are not all presented here, will you be able to discover others?

Émile Antoine Bourdelle (1861-1929) has always kept a strong link with his hometown. Today eight of his sculptures are displayed in the streets, in the squares and in the parks of Montauban. Articulated for many of them around the notions of space, light and movement, these sculptures are displayed harmoniously in the streets of Montalban: "Monument to the dead, combatants and servants of Tarn-et-Garonne, 1870-1871" ( bronze and granite 1895 - 1902), "Pénélope" (bronze, 1906-1912), "Bust of Auguste Quercy" (bronze, 1911), "Dying centaur" (bronze, 1914), "Monument to the war dead 1914-1918 "(bronze and reinforced cement, 1921-1932)," Sapho "(bronze, 1887-1925).
