CONTEMPORARY CHAMBER MUSIC FREE ENTRY Subject to reservation only: lesderivessonores@rio-grande.fr Concert 7.15pm - AUDITORIUM DU CONSERVATOIRE 5 impasse des Carmes - MONTAUBAN ESMERINE (CAN) Founded in 2001 by Rebecca Foon (Thee Silver Mt. Zion) and Bruce Cawdron (Godspeed You! Black Emperor), Esmerine - which has since become a quintet - symbolizes all the creativity and the glow of the Montreal scene. In six albums, including four on the prestigious Constellation label, the group tirelessly explored the points of convergence between contemporary music, post-rock, Eastern European folk and Middle Eastern traditions. Twenty years punctuated by unforgettable encounters with Lhasa de Sela, Sarah Neufeld (Arcade Fire) or even the saxophonist Colin Stetson. Rebecca Foon: cello, vocals Bruce Cawdron: marimba, glockenspiel Brian Sanderson: violin, horn, mellophone Philippe Charbonneau: double bass, bass Jamie Thompson: drums, percussions SOUND DRIVES are worn by the association Le Rio as part of his shows “ Outside the walls ". These sessions, which take place in places of small gauge (30 to 40 people) translate highlights for the public as for the artists. In this intimate context, artistic discovery favors each note, and each piece seems to be redesigned, reworked, rearranged for the occasion. The Dérives Sonores project offers people who would not have the chance to experience the concert live, to discover it later on the web; sessions carefully recorded by two sound and video engineers
