The art of bookbinding

Each month, the staff of the Heritage Library and the Resistance and Combatant Museum invite you to discover some of the documents kept in the reserves of the Heritage, Archives and Memory Centre. Books, objects, photos or archives usually kept out of sight are thus revealed to you, commented on, put into context. These works are so many testimonies of an era and will teach you a lot about
a subject... not to mention the emotion of being able to observe them so closely!

Can you judge a book by its cover? Undoubtedly, if its cover is old: it reveals the uses that its owner reserved for it... or some surprises! Take this opportunity to admire some spectacular bindings and the multiple decorations on the books!
