Cultural, Cinema, Reading in Bressols
  • This year, it is a question of debating around a book Porca Miseria by Tonino Benacquista and a film Forbidden to dogs and Italians by Alain Ughetto, both very recent and dealing with the same subject: the Italian immigration.

  • Monday, June 19 from 2:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.
It is therefore recommended that you first immerse yourself in reading Porca Miseria to participate in the discussion scheduled at the end of the session.

    The book
Porca Miseria by Tonino Benacquista, Gallimard 2022 (also published by Folio in 2023)
As a good literary craftsman, Tonino Benacquista pieces together his memories, embroiders his childhood adventures and creates a tailor-made novel for his parents and siblings. Thus offering them a literary life, the writer attempts an overwhelming consolation of family frustrations and wonders about the cultural balancing act from which he comes. A sublime and luminous book on the power of words!
