Paris, November 2, 1793. Locked up in the prison cell where she awaits death, Olympe de Gouges recalls her life and her battles. From the city of Montauban where she was born to the capital won over by her ideas and the revolutionary fever, she went through life at a beating drum. Writer, essayist, pamphleteer, Olympe campaigned for the civil and political rights of women as well as the abolition of black slavery.

Fighted and mocked for its avant-garde positions and its independence, it defended its principles until its last breath.
Incarnated by Firmine Richard, this monologue, written from the works and correspondence of Olympe de Gouges, paints a sensitive and intimate portrait of this pioneer of feminism. This creation is also the occasion of an unprecedented encounter between Montauban and Guadeloupe, between Occitanie and the West Indies. Bringing together music, dance and the visual arts, this multidisciplinary show also responds to an urgent need of our time: that of combating misogyny, racism and discrimination.
