Two sculptors from the antipodes, David Malzac and Marie-Claire Buisson, come together around a reflection on the human, his body, his expression, in a word: his humanity.
A self-taught sculptor, David MALZAC practices direct carving – whether for stone or clay – without going through the realization of preparatory sketches. Taking into account from the beginning the shape of the block, its reaction during the work, he applies his will, his feelings, and this is how the project evolves. His method is slow, trying: it is in this physical as well as mental effort that David MALZAC's passion for his discipline has its source.
Marie-Claire BUISSON meanwhile, studied sculpture at Espace Bourdelle. The modeling of faces in white sandstone is regularly associated with steel, in a dialogue of materials that gives strength and presence to the characters. She explores, in a delicate modeling, the expression of the moving moment, loneliness as a presence in the world, the human condition in its most fragile and singular. His creations lead a silent dialogue with the viewer.
A complementary duo that does honor to the city of Bourdelle and De Faveri and that the City of Montauban wanted to highlight!
