The teachers, Julie Legal, Pierre Hoy and Nicolas Caruso welcome nearly 280 students each week divided into cycles according to age for the youngest from 7 years old or in various workshops for adults such as modeling, drawing, painting, living model or plastic expression. They strive to support the varied public in the discovery of artistic practice, the development of technical skills and creativity, by leading everyone to engage in various projects and by promoting the emergence of a culture of visual arts. .

    The program :
The origin of these projects comes from the creation of an “Ideal Expo”, a concept by the illustrator artist Hervé Tullet and led by Mémo. It will be presented from September 2024 to January 2025. The visual arts department wanted to get involved in this transversal initiative which gives pride of place to colors, gestures, decompartmentalization and the collective. An annex to L’Expo Ideale created by the public of the drawing school will be presented in the Carmes cloister and in the premises of the Conservatory.
Joy is an open theme which allows us to gradually approach the plastic elements used by Hervé Tullet.
It is also a pleasant and deep emotion felt consciously. It is caused by a cause and manifested openly. We can therefore question any triggering event that will provoke an emotional reaction. It is also a sign when we have managed to improve. So beyond constant satisfaction, we can retain the idea of individual and collective progression.

    The Joy exhibition:
The creations presented are the fruit of various situations adapted to the public and likely to provoke joy: freedom of expression and creation, sharing, cooperation, social bond, color(s), know-how and surpassing, pleasure of seeing, d to hear, to touch, to experience, to question the artistic gesture(s).
This is an opportunity to appreciate the quality of all the practices carried out within the school and to promote the projects accomplished, in particular:
    - Drawing notebooks and engravings made with the kind help of artist engraver Marie-Claire Hornain
    - Drawings of musicians made at the Conservatory
    - Notebooks and drawings made during courses relocated to the Ingres Bourdelle Museum and the Museum
    - The colorful installation in the Carmes cloister basin thanks to the cooperation of CTM ironworkers and Parks and Gardens agents
    - The inauguration of the picture rails allowing a quality display in the cloister facing the Conservatory thanks to the cooperation of the CTM carpenters

The exhibition will therefore take place at the drawing school and in the cloister from June 8 to 27. Open during class hours, it will allow visitors and future students to discover the content of the programs, appreciate the progress made in one year, attend workshops and meet the teachers.
